ParcelSlip is operated by Lot 313, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, which is responsible for the personal information described here. This policy explains what ParcelSlip collects when you visit this website, buy from us or contact us, and what we do with it.
Information we collect
- With your approval at install, the Shopify permissions read_orders and read_draft_orders. When you open an invoice, the app reads that order or draft order from Shopify (order number and dates, line items and prices, discounts, shipping, tax lines, refunds, billing and shipping name, company and address, and any order attribute holding a customer VAT number) only to render the document you asked for. Invoices are rendered on demand and not saved on our servers.
- Your settings: legal name, trading name, address, country, VAT number, invoice prefixes, optional exchange rate and footer text.
- Your shop's Shopify access token, so the app can read orders on your behalf.
- For each invoice or credit note you issue: its number, date and the Shopify order or refund ID, so numbering stays sequential. We do not store customer names, addresses, emails or order contents.
- Billing for ParcelSlip is handled by Shopify through your Shopify account; we do not receive or store your card details.
- Messages you send us, and anything you include in them.
- If you arrive from one of our ads: the ad click identifier in the link you followed, which we keep with your order.
- Technical data our hosting provider processes to serve and protect this website, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested.
This website loads no third-party analytics or advertising scripts. We look only at aggregate traffic statistics.
For your customers' personal data in Shopify orders, you (the merchant) are the controller and ParcelSlip acts as your processor. Shopify customers/data_request and customers/redact requests are verified and acknowledged; we hold no customer personal data to export or erase.
How we use it
- to deliver what you bought and to communicate with you about your order;
- to answer support questions and handle refund requests;
- to measure which of our ads lead to purchases;
- to keep accounting, tax and legal records;
- to prevent fraud and abuse, and to keep the website working.
Business email
If we emailed you about ParcelSlip, we used your business contact details (name, work email address, job title and company) from publicly available sources and business contact data providers, because your role suggested the product could be relevant to your business. Every such email has an unsubscribe link. Once you unsubscribe or ask us to stop, we will not email you about ParcelSlip again, and we keep only the minimum record needed to honor that request.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run ParcelSlip, and only as needed for them to do so:
- Shopify (installing and running the app in your store, billing, and the store data the app needs to work);
- cloud hosting and content delivery providers (serving and protecting this website, and aggregate traffic statistics);
- cloud storage and database providers (keeping your settings and order records);
- advertising platforms (to measure our ads: when you arrive from an ad and buy, the ad click identifier and the purchase value);
- professional advisers such as accountants and lawyers, where needed.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others. We do not sell your personal information for money.
Shopify handles billing under the Shopify Privacy Policy.
How long we keep it
On uninstall we remove the access token. About 48 hours after uninstall, Shopify sends a shop/redact request and we delete all data we hold for the shop (settings and document numbers). We keep a minimal log of these requests (shop, topic, time) without personal data. You can ask us to delete your information sooner (see below).
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Depending on where you live (for example California, other US states, the UK or the EU), you may have further rights, such as to receive a copy of your data, or to opt out of or object to certain uses, including sharing for ad measurement. Contact us from the email address you used with us; we will respond within the time the law requires and will not treat you differently for making a request. If we must keep some records by law, we will tell you.
Security
We use established service providers and limit access to your information to what is needed to serve you. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
International transfers
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries.
Children
ParcelSlip is a business product and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
